Default thinking about buying this modded 00 V70XC - opinion?

so this thing looks super clean inside and out... opinions please!

this is what the ad says:

2000 V70XR - MODDED - $6,000 - 165k miles

I am selling my not-so-stock V70XC. This is not your average soccer mom wagon anymore. (yay!) Very well maintained, properly modded (see list of mods) and very reliable. I have way too many Volvo's (enthusiast) and unfortunately this one has to go as I have a new car to park in the garage. (this car has and is still garaged!)

Has clean title and smog in hand. LOW MILES

Recent 165k service just performed, including:
-Synthetic oil/ oem filter
-Timing belt/ water pump
-Spark plugs
-Air and fuel filter

Other service performed in the last 10k miles
-OEM Front struts, mounts, and bearings.
-OEM turbo control valve
-OEM boost sensor
-OEM front and rear brakes
-Cleaned electronic throttle valve (has the upgraded unit that doesnt go bad)
-Rebuilt drive-shaft (yes, the AWD works!)

The modifications that make this car worthy of an "R" badge:
-16T turbo (angle flange)
-IPD HD compressor bypass valve
-V70R Green fuel injectors
-Dual exhaust
-Short ram intake (sounds awesome without being too ricey)
-ARD Tune @ 15 psi (for the above mods)
-V70R engine covers
-Front chin spoiler
-V70R springs (lowers car 2 inches, without sacrificing ride quality)
-Full tint
-18 inch charcoal grey wheels with new tires.

Has all its original XC mats and cargo liners for rear as well.

One may ask, "why did you go through all this on a Volvo XC? Why not just buy the R?" Heres why..in 99-00 the R came with a 5 speed auto trans that has proved to be weak, there are a lot of issues with the reverse gear going out. However, the 99-00 V70XC came with the same 4 speed transmission volvo had been using since 93 and has proven to be virtually bullet proof. I have personally seen and owned older volvos with the 4 speed transmission that have gone 300K+ miles with nothing more than regular service. This is the one, very good reason why I chose to mod a XC and not just buy an R. I planned to keep this car for another 100k but I have no more space to keep in in the garage.

This is the smart option in my opinion. You have the most reliable of everything Volvo made in this car. The 2001+ is also riddled with transmission issues. 2000 was the last year of the good ones, and only the XC had the reliable transmission.

The ARD tune also allows this car to get great fuel economy. I average 25 mpg combined and get almost 30mpg on the highway.

That sounds like a lot I would like to do to my 98 v70 XC and a really good deal. Where are you located? Could you load up some pics?

There's nothing over the top here, and it appears the car is being carefully maintained. If the AC is working fine and there are no check engine lights, the car is nicely set up. I'd say add on some IPD HD sway bars and you'd have a keeper. My only caution is don't add 100% of the cost of the after-market bits to the resale price of the car. The value is in a clean, well maintained vehicle that can give you many years of service.
