I am looking at 1998 V70 AWD with 91k original miles and one owner form a dealer in Houston, TX. The car looks extremely clean and the timing beal was changed 30k miles ago from a Volvo dealer. Other than that there are no service records and the carfax does not show any maintnance records other than it failed emissions test a few times and passed the next day. First off the price is $3900 and the dealer will not sell for less. I think that is kinda high but the car books for that much retail and it is the nicest 1998 I have seen so far. The dealer did agree to have the vehicle checked out at Volvo shop, not a dealer, that is close by. I live 200 miles away so I want to have it looked at before I drive down to look at it. Here is the link:

What do you guys think. I really appreciate any feedback.

That is not a bad price for a car that has been serviced. However, you have NO evidence that this car has been serviced within the past 4 years. If you are handy, I don't see a big deal. If you are NOT, STAY FAR AWAY from these cars.
If you go see it, do test drive it for at LEAST 30 miles.
