Hello all! Hoping to get any knowledge I can on this, it's an interesting issue as many things on here are.
Background before issue itself: 5 years ago I purchased a fully functioning M66 swapped 2000 V70R. No codes, no quirks, nothing. Ran and drove as if it were OEM, beautifully done. A while later the engine went(ouch).
Swapped in a new one from a 99 V70R(as far as I can find this is an okay move in terms of compatibility and such, but if not, welcome to thoughts.) Installed and all, but was throwing a code for the ETM. Brought it to a shop to see if it needed to be reprogrammed and they said that the way the the way the electronics communicate is set way, and that usually the ECU communicates with the TCM first before the ETM, and the fact that it doesn't have a TCM(cause transmission swap) it is hindering this. So I am open to any idea or thoughts anyone may have. I have researched it and I've got nothing thus far. Thank you anyone and everyone who chimes in in advance!
