Default Wrong alternator?

So the alt went out on my 1998 V70 AWD, not wanting to pay the $233 the parts store wanted for a re-manufactured one, I turned to e-bay, $40 including shipping I found one that said it would work for my car, when I got it I noticed it had the same hook-ups (one bolt and one blade connector) but the one off my car said "L" by the blade, and the new one says "D+". I had the parts store test the new (used) alt and it passed with flying colors, but when I install it, nothing.... so I'm wondering if the L vs the D+ is the problem or if it's something else, the ebay add I think said it came from a 850, but calmed it would work on the V70 also. I know I can return it and get my money back, but I would have to pay for return shipping, so if there is anyway I can make this one work, I would be much happier.

By the way they are both the Bosch 100 amp.

I've read that the D+ wire goes to the warning lamp, but I can't find out what the L is supposed to hook to. Anyone know?

won't know till you slap it in. Just remember. Have the battery full charge (use a charger on battery as you replace alternator) or else the alternator will charge only to the charge percentage of the battery.
