The VADIS is wrong on location of AM/FM Tuner Module (AFM)
O.K. I made the mistake of thinking that this would be a breeze, since I had copies of the VADIS info for the project I was about to undertake.
I was VERY wrong!!
It is supposed to be under the right side rear window, as it says in the VADIS
But...
...It's not
So I kept tearing the car apart...
I wonder if my warranty is still good...
The first two images are the VADIS copies.
The photos are of the area below the right rear window.

RE: The VADIS is wrong on location of AM/FM Tuner Module (AFM)
Here is the latest:
I went to the dealer to show the Service folks the void where the AFM was rumored to be. The service manager was one of those guys who believes things when he says it and who had no idea what he was talking about. The service tech that I spoke with was very helpful. He was perplexed about the missing AFM. He called Volvo Tech Support and was told that Volvo made a change and the AFM was no longer in the back of the car but in the front.
However, it sounds like the radio signals may be converted into a digital or fiber optic signal that is not compatible with the old analog antenna signal used by the run-of-the-mill FM Modulator.
Does anyone know about the signal coming directly off of the window antenna? Can the two small wires be tapped into and fed into the standard coaxial antenna cable prior to being converted by the FM Amplifier?
