so i have a 1999 xc70 with the 2.4l turbo, i replaced my starter last night and now it sounds like my car is struggling for air and the idle is all over the place. I have taken everything apart now 3 times and everytime its the same issue. i have no idea what it could be and i dont really want to take it to a mechanic. so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated! thanks

 

did you knock off a vacuum line when removing the battery terminals or the starter wires? start with a quick visual check.

not sure but you may need to do an "ECU relearn" here due to disconnecting the battery a few times. You should be able to search the boards (this or the V70's0 to check for the relearn procedure).
