Really kind of desperate about this problem
Hi Fellow Members,
I posted earlier about the below, had 77 views, but no answers.
I'm a handicapped individual in a wheelchair and this car is my only mode of transportation. So, I'm very desperate for any help.
Maybe one of you could just point me to a major thread that deals with the problem below?
It would really be great if some kind Volvo-loving soul out there could help me. I would greatly appreciate it. See below. And to the Admins and Mods, sorry for repeating the same problem in another thread, I have to get this car up and going. I hope you understand my dilemma and need.
PROBLEM:
ETS (ETM) is going bad on my 2000 XC. I've heard they are a problem and Volvo did a recall, obviously my car did not get a Volvo fix. Bought the car used a couple of years ago.
I've heard they can be cleaned, I've heard I can buy a re-built or non OEM replacement. The Volvo guy here in town is wanting $600 to fix it.
What route should I go? If I buy a rebuilt or non OEM, where can I find a cheap reliable one. Budget is very tight due to disability.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

you can try to clean it really good for the time being if your budget is tight. from what ive seen if you really clean it, it helps for a bit but more than likely it will need to be replaced in the future. hope this helps.
