Replaced rear rotors & pads, but caliper carrier rubbing rotor
Hello all,
2000 V70XC here, with 162K miles. I know what my issue is here, but just wanted to ask on the list before I go and tear everything apart. I replaced the rear brake rotors and pads this past weekend, and heard the typical light metal scrubbing noise this morning, which I figured was just the pads mating to the rotors. However, upon closer inspection I see that the inner edge of the caliper carrier is rubbing against the outside braking surface of the rotor.
I still have my old rotors and can put them side to side with the new ones to compare height, etc., but they looked the same when I compared them prior to installation. There is a slight chance that I mixed up the caliper carriers and the sides of the car to which they belong, but it's hard to see how that would make a difference in this case.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
