2.5T V70 Throttle Response
Hi,
I've lived with this for quite a while but, is their any way to improve the throttle response for this car? Especially off the line. The turbo lag is very noticeable...to the point where I have to alter my drivng style pulling into traffic compared to driving my other car (which jack rabbits off the line after barely touching the throttle).
It's a 2003 with 105k miles.
Thanks

Man, there is no way for us to help you with the little information you have given. When was the last time the car was tuned up? There is also a chance that you have a bad turbo. Does the car smoke or do you have a CEL?
Hey there,
It's a 2003 V70 with a 2.5T motor and 105K miles, as I stated. It has been maintained and tuned-up by the book. No CEL. No smoke. What else can I tell you?
My issue is not that it is performing any worse than new. My issue is that the car from new has always suffered from this awful throttle tip-in. I guess I never really noticed it as being so bad until I drove my wife's new car (Toyota Highlander) a few times.
So, I am not looking to diagnose a problem, rather, what, if anything, can I do to improve performance on an otherwise stock motor in good tune.
Thanks for the help
Bob

I believe that your car has a system that learns your driving habbits. So, the only way to get it to drive more agressive is to drive agressive daily. Otherwise, if you want some torque, WOT.
I've heard that the tranny has "adaptive" learning software. My wife drove the car for the first 8 years of its life so, perhaps it learned her driving style.
Anyway...WOT it is! Let's see if we can teach this old dog some new tricks.
