2001 V70 Turbo
I hope someone has a clue before I tow this thing to the dealer, not that i dislike the dealer but the nearest one is two hours away![Embarrassment](https://volvoforums.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif)
my original engine had catastrophic failure so I bought an used one and swapped it out ran into a couple of snags, the "new" engine wasn't the turbo model, the only difference that I saw at the time was that there wasn't a hole in the block for oil return tube but there was a place where it should go so i drilled it and that seemed to have worked out well.![Name: oil%20return%20tube_zps5bjaziiq.jpg

We installed the engine without any issues, hooked everything back up, new plugs, vacuum hoses, everything seemed fine. tried to start it...no dice,![Frown](https://volvoforums.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)
checked the fuel, pressure was fine, squirted some starter fluid in the intake manifold, still no start.
Checked the spark, no spark.
Read codes, it was giving me a crankshaft position sensor, disconnected the battery, swapped out the crankshaft position sensor for a brand new one, reconnected the battery, still no spark.
took a look at the camshaft position sensor and realized that the old engine has it on the inboard cam (closest to the firewall) and this engine has it on the outboard side. They are also rotated about 180deg from eachother.
Will this cause issues with the ECM giving me a no spark situation?
Can I fix it or do I have a four hour round trip ahead of me?
new engine-
