Default 2001 V70 Camshaft Position Sensor on the wrong cam?

2001 V70 Turbo
I hope someone has a clue before I tow this thing to the dealer, not that i dislike the dealer but the nearest one is two hours away

my original engine had catastrophic failure so I bought an used one and swapped it out ran into a couple of snags, the "new" engine wasn't the turbo model, the only difference that I saw at the time was that there wasn't a hole in the block for oil return tube but there was a place where it should go so i drilled it and that seemed to have worked out well.Name: oil%20return%20tube_zps5bjaziiq.jpg

We installed the engine without any issues, hooked everything back up, new plugs, vacuum hoses, everything seemed fine. tried to start it...no dice,

checked the fuel, pressure was fine, squirted some starter fluid in the intake manifold, still no start.
Checked the spark, no spark.
Read codes, it was giving me a crankshaft position sensor, disconnected the battery, swapped out the crankshaft position sensor for a brand new one, reconnected the battery, still no spark.

took a look at the camshaft position sensor and realized that the old engine has it on the inboard cam (closest to the firewall) and this engine has it on the outboard side. They are also rotated about 180deg from eachother.
Will this cause issues with the ECM giving me a no spark situation?
Can I fix it or do I have a four hour round trip ahead of me?

Don't waste your time at the dealer. They can't do anything. It's the wrong engine. There are other internal differences between the engines.

The VVT is on the exhaust cam for a turbo engine and on the intake cam for a non turbo. The cams are therefore different as well. The pistons are different. The rods are different I believe. The compression ratio is different.

Hey, guys, got the correct engine in it, i have a spark but no injection. I have fuel pressure at the rail and the injector fuse (#6 in the engine bay fuse box) is fine. car will run when I spray ether into the intake manifold so I know I have spark.
Is there an injector relay?

Thumbs up

camshaft position sensor location on 2001 S60 Turbo T5. located on the drivers side of the head under the engine motor mount. access from the back. remove turbo hose. easy to remove /install. good luck.
