2002 v70 instrument panel
Hello everyone my wife took my volvo yesterday and the instrument went completely black. I went out when she got home and every thing was fine and every thing was working . Well I had to do an errand today and it happened to me while I was driving I got home and shut it off went back out about an hour later and every thing was normal. So I cleaned all the grounds I could find under the hood and the battery connections to see if that was the problem ,well that didn't help could it be the voltage regulator/alternator? I have read that these instrument clusters have a tendency to do weird thing when the solder lets go and they have to be sent out and re-soldered . Does this sound like the issue I am having or should I look for some thing else? any input or help would be great full..
Sure sounds like you've got "the problem".
XeMODeX, with offices in Colorado and Canada, is one company which can effect repair. Cluster-fix is another. Search on these Volvo boards or use Google.
How many miles were on your car when the problem started?
