Hi Everyone,

I have been a Volvo driver for many, many years. From my first, which was a 1978 242 DL with 4 speed manual and overdrive (bought in 1989) - bulletproof! We bought a relative a 1979 265 GL wagon (not a good motor PRV!!!). Bought a 1985 240 GL sedan in the mid 90's. Then a 1987 240 DL Wagon with a 4 speed manual with overdrive - what a great car. Next a 1985 760 Turbo sedan that was a kick to drive - loved the car. Next a 1995 760 Wagon - still have it. A 1996 850R Wagon - awesome car I still have. And finally to my 2002 V70 XC, which I use as a work vehicle. Whew, a lot of Volvo cars we've owned!

I'm here tonight to ask for help with my 2002 V70 XC. The power seat clicks and it isn't in the right position and the seat is reclined back. I unplugged the green connector and the black connectors and the clicking stopped. The seat is still in the wrong position and I have to put a pillow behind my back and I'm still in an odd position.

I read that it's most likely the microswitch, but if it were, would I be getting the clicking noise? There must be power getting to the seat frame or it wouldn't click, right?

I'm tempted to buy an entire new seat frame with the switch, but I've heard the seat is heavy, so if I can avoid removing the seat and putting the new one in, I'd be a happy camper.

Does anyone have a way to test the seat frame motors to see if they're okay. I don't mind replacing the seat switches or even trying to clean them, but I don't want to do it if the motors on the seat frame are bad.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
