Default 2003 V70 Headlight Condensation

Hi

The passenger headlight of our V70 has recently accumulated a lot of condensation on the lens. Just curious if others have experienced this as well? If so, any idea what causes this and possible remedy?

Some people might suggest the units are sealed and the seal has become compromised. I am not sure that is entirely accurate since you have to open the back of the unit to replace the bulbs.

Thanks

Bob

Hi

I believe I solved this one. Apparently the caps on the back of the headlight unit come in two configurations. One is fully solid and seals the lamp tight. The other has a vent with a Tyvek cover on it. This allow air to pass in/out of unit. My drivers side has one of the vented caps. The passenger (problem) side did not.

I went to the dealer this morning to get a new vented cap. The parts guy had no idea about this issue. He had an extra vented cap laying around and give it to me for free!

I left the cap off for a day (dry weather) and installed the new vented cap. I hope that solves the issue once and for all.
