Hey, if the low beams are HID on my car, would the high beams automatically be HID?

With HID bulbs - the HID bulb is the low and high beam. In your Volvo a motor moves the reflector to focus light further down the road for high beam. On a couple of my BMWs a shutter block part of the light for low beam instead of moving the reflector.

The inner bulbs are the daytime running lamps when the outer bulbs are HID. .
