I am the original owner of the car and have always done the maintenance. Transmission fluid flushed twice since new. Car has 236,000 miles. Car starts and shifts great. I have been chasing a growling noise which is very noticeable when first started in Park. If I put it in neutral the noise goes away. First thing I did was replace all the motor mounts and there was no change along with new fuel injectors. There is no check engine light on. I am leaning toward the transmission but not sure. Sometimes when started it sounds like it is running on 4 cylinders when first started but stops as soon as I put it in neutral. It is odd that it only does this in Park and Drive but not Neutral. I have surfed the net with no other similar issues. Thanks Chad

 

All I can offer is that .."once upon a time..." an AC compressor went out and the noise was truly a growl.
