Need help locating a switch for my 2005 V70.
I had trouble with the fan not turning off.... believing the issue to be the switch. BUT... I can not find one online... I have tried searching for if to no avail- I have called it everything I can think of... its the fan switch that controls the speed of the fan and the on-off of the fan.

Anyone out there that "know" what to call this thing, or where I can find one?

I would expect that part to be available from the dealer only.

Maybe you are looking for the resistor? Did you try using fcpeuro’s site to see if them have something under climate control?

Okay, finally got to a dealer.... tried to buy a switch...... they said its not something they would stock. I would have to replace the entire panel.
But the parts guy told me that it was most probably the resistor that needed replacing... like Peirre said above.... Their price was $170. So I looked it up on fcpeuro site and it was $69...
So...I have one on the way.

Okay..... this ain't over yet.

I have a new resistor, and have had it for a month or so....finally able to start working on this.

PROBLEM..... can't seem to find a "how to video" on youtube that is specific enough for my 2005 V70. All I can find are for other models- and in removing the glove box- it does not look like the videos.
Anyone know of a specific how to for a volvo v70 2005? Trying to replace the resistor.

EDIT: Okay, found it. It was on the fan motor. Got the resistor replaced, and everything put back together....but it doesn't help. Fan doesn't work at all now.

Something else is wrong????

Any suggestions are appreciated-

 

???.... I don't know quiet what to think? For some unknown reason the fan decides to start working today? Speed selector works too. I can turn it on or off at will, change the speed= it all works?
Don't know what happened??.... I guess its magic?



Edit: And.......... 4 days later it is still working fine. No more issues yet!
