Brake lines
Have to change my cracked brake lines on my 01 V70 T5, and have decided to go with SS from FCP. Have all the tools 2 sets of flare wrenches etc etc. Is there any tips or things to watch out for when loosing the old connections..
yes don't make my mistake, spray penetrating oil on the nut you wanna get loosse and let it sit for a while(24 hours) if you don't want to strip the nut . A mix of acetone and atf(automatic transmission oil) is even better.
Take my advice cos if you don't, you're gonna have to take vice grips to get it loosse.
Good luck Mart

Mart1966 is right about the home-made penetrating oil (I use Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil instead of ATF, but the end result is the same - a thinner-than-water lubricant that penetrates like crazy, then the acetone evaporates leaving just the "real lube").
I've heard great things about these "brake line vice grips"... I actually ordered a couple of them in different sizes, but haven't used them yet... but have heard from some wrench-twisters I trust that they're MUCH better than anything else you can use for loosening brake line nuts.
