Default Broken Turn Signal

Wife drove the car and broke the turn signal lever. Clean break at the base. Not good. Is it brain surgery to r/r? I can get the part, but don't have a clue as to r/r. Fiddling around with anything close to the airbag scares me.

Any advice/help/condolences is greatly appreciated.

It is very simple to replace the turn signal switch. You have to desperate the 2 trim pieces for the steering column behind the steering wheel. The bottom half is held on 3 T25s underneath the column, the top just snaps onto the bottom half. With the trim pieces off you will see the 2 Philips that hold the switch onto the steering wheel module.
