Thumbs up Buzzing again

Hello.
I am a new V70 owner. My car is a 2003 wagon. Recently I started hearing a buzzing from the motor compartment. It was more sounding like a big cricket was sitting underneath the wiper fluid tank. I checked the forum and found a thread from the year 2008 from Nadine-Texas describing my problem and the answer from the Tech to check the alarm siren. I found the wiring diagram at the internet. I idenfied modul 16/35 SCM as the alarm siren. I pulled the fuse 11C28 in the passenger compartment. The buzzing stopped immediately. (As per my wiring diagram the SCM should have been on fuse 11C38. Don't know why it's not.)
I located the siren in the passenger front wheel well after I drilled out the plastic rivets and took off the liner. Sure, there was the siren modul just close to the windshield wash tank. I put the fuse 11C28 back in and buzzing started again. Pulled cable from siren and buzzing stopped. Tried to remove siren but gave up and just jury rigged a good mechanical solution. Kept the cable off and secured it.
Put it all back together. My Wagon is running fine.
