I have a 2001 V70 and just had the starter replaced. We only had it home a day when I discovered the coolant leaks. I can fill it up and it's empty in a few hours just sitting in the driveway. There's dripping in the front on both passenger and driver side—the color is a watery brown. It also looks like there might be some kind of leak in the engine control module box. See pictures. I don't think its the gasket. I filled it and drove 10 minutes, the coolant drained, didn't rise.
Any ideas? Is it worth dumping more money into this car? I like it, but I keep dumping money into repairs.

 

It's a coolant leak on a 20 year old Volvo - Yep, it's going to cost a bunch to keep that 20 year old Volvo running. It's a personal decision on how much to spend - but don't drive it if it leaks coolant rapidly - you will end up with a damaged head gasket that will cost thousands to fix. On top of what causing the coolant leak now!

The leak is not in the "engine control module box". I'd bet the plastic upper radiator hose neck is broken and it is spraying everywhere. A simple pressure test will show where it is coming from. After radiator replacement, expect every other plastic thing or hose to leak in the cooling system - It's 20 years old. Been there many times both personally and with many customers.
