Directional signals turn on high beams v70 2006

Default Directional signals turn on high beams v70 2006
My directional signals flash my high beams unless I push the stalk forward. I’ve accidentally left my lights on several times because of it

sounds like you need to replace the multifunction switch (aka the stalk switch) that controls the directionals and high beams.

Yeah - that makes sense...thanks. Do you think a good local mechanic could handle that, or is it a deanship job? The part isn't much and the job doesn't look too hard for a pro.

Check Youtube for vids, should be about an hour of shop labor for any indy shop. You can buy the part online at a Volvo dealer store (Tasca Parts is who I use - as they are here in the Northeast.)
