Door Open warning

Door Open warning
My 2009 V70 has just had the 'Door Open' warning appear on the dash. I thought it maybe the actuator or microswitch in the door lock, but it looks like it is a common issue with the wires from the door to the car breaking or coming apart from the connector in the footwell.
Has anyone found an easy way to get to the wires? Do I need to take the door off?

It's lonely when nobody answers you. I haven't had the joy of a broken wire yet (but will now due to the jynx).
Maybe for starters you can remove the interior panel and get a good look at the lock to see what color wires come rom it so you can more easily identify the broken wire at the hinge. I doubt the door needs to come off.

This is poor design

You pictured the breaks in 2 wires very near rubber boots of one kind or another.
Maybe you can pull 2 lengths of wire (one for each of the broken ones) through the boots. Then peel out the broken wires to where you can have at them.
Do your splicing then neaten it up.
You're probably done already. G&K
