Default Electric radiator fan on 2001 V70 T5 won't shut off

Hi all. I just inherited this lovely machine from my in-laws, it is my first experience with European engineering and for the most part I am thrilled. Yesterday, however, the electric fan ran for nearly an hour after I turned off the engine. I couldn't find a fuse for it, so traced the power cables to a two point plug and unplugged it. This morning I plugged it back in to go to church and it started blowing again, before I started the engine. Is their a simple fix for this? Can I simply keep unplugging it in the interim? Lastly, if the weather is cold and no traffic anticipated should I plug it in everytime I drive it? Thanks in advance for guidance!

Jason

I would think the fan relay is stuck. They have a pretty stout power draw and it has a big relay that allows the computer with a very small amount of power to control it.

If it was mine, I would certainly be tempted to leave it unplugged at times. Just watch the temperature gauge, and keep the A/C off.
