I would like to take the head from XC70 2002 B5244T3 and put it on an XC70 2003 B5254T2. Obviously the engine displacement is different, but is it possible that the heads are just a revision and thus compatible?

Looking at the head gasket part numbers on autozone, the Felpro offering is 26256PT for the 2003 but 26205PT for the 2002, so it doesn't look good.

Despite that, I thought I should ask for thoughts from the forum since I have a really good opportunity if anyone thought there was some hope they are compatible. Any one have any thoughts?

They look different to me, not much, but look in the lower right hand corner of the image, the 26205PT has two tabs sticking out whereas the other one only has one. So they are different, but is that tab enough o make it not work? Not sure what that tab covers up.
