Question Headlight bulbs...

Hi all,
Hey, My right side headlight bulb is pretty weak, the car has HIDs on it, my question is; how easy would it be to go to LED? Is LED better than the older HIDs at this point?

TIA!

LED and HID bulbs are incompatible and can't be swapped. Xenon HIDs use a ballast, plus the buckets are designed to the bulb. If you decide to swap out, you'd need new headlight buckets and new wiring connectors, and then you'd need to live with the headlight out warning light being on.

Better solution is to correct why your right side light is weak. I'd start be replacing the bulbs - go OEM or Genuine Volvo. Next adjust the beam to make sure the height is correct. Finally, inspect the wiring. Bad wiring / connectors or a weak ground can easily be remedied.

Foggy lens or peeling/tarnished reflector surface? A new bucket will correct for less money than a conversion kit.

Reflectors are often the real problem.

I replaced mine with after-market bulbs from Amazon for under $30; they work fine. On the right(passenger) side you'll have to remove the power steering reservoir to access the bulbs.
