Default Hitch recommendations

Hey folks, I have an '03 model. Any brand recommendations on a hitch? Thanks,

I would not recommend connecting any type of hitch to this vehicle. They don't have much of a towing capacity.

Capacity is listed at nearly the max for a class 2 hitch. That's a good amount. Or am I missing something?

Do what you feel is appropriate.

Well, I'm thinking a 2100 lb ski boat, 800 lb trailer. Plus gear and fuel in the boat, so right at about 3000 lb. I take it your opinion is the vehicle cannot safely tow this amount, irrespective of it's rated towing capacity?

Thanks,

Ultra

I installed an OEM hitch on my '04 V70, but I use it for a bike rack so did not install the wiring harness. The hitch is completely hidden behind the bumper, and the hitch point ends up a bit higher off the ground (12" on mine) than aftermarket brands like Curt or Uhaul.
