Default Interchangeable parts? 1998 s70 sedan with 2004 v70 wagon

Hello! I’m looking to buy a used V70, 2004 and was wondering if anyone knows if I can use the parts from my 1998 S70? Thank you! Linh

It's going to be minimal. The starter is, for example. The engine is revised, so a few items here and there might fit. The transmission is different, assuming they are automatics. They went from a 4 speed to a 5 speed like about everything else. You don't trust me on that, as it's your cars. It's not really the same platform, so the brakes and suspension are different. As you can see, the interior is different.

Go to a big website like RockAuto.com and look up parts for both. Finding different part numbers for, say, radiators, exhaust parts and heater fans will tell the story.

I believe the wheels differ but maybe not too much as the set of mounted snow tires on steel wheels I got were from an older Volvo.
It's just that the tire size is a tad wide on the older wheel and rubs on full lock. The snows are 215-55-16 and my P2 takes 205-55-16.
I just deal with it and will buy 205 or 195 snows when the ones I have wear out.

You could try looking up something buried like the fuel pump or wiper motor. I wouldn't hold out much hope.

Always remember that a used part taken from a 22 year old car is something you FREQUENTLY don't want to install during a repair job.

If your '98 runs I'd think selling that "pre-computer" S70 on one of the Volvo boards is the best way to get rid of it.

Also remember that Cars.com gives a free ad with 3 pictures. You just have to re-up the ad monthly and they make it real easy to do.

I've found that Volvos (and perhaps other cars) are searched for. If yours is presentable, have at selling it.
Make sure to include whatever service/repair history you have.

Don't let an S70 sit in the weeds....bad form.

They are different platforms and share almost no parts.
