I have a 2002 V70 XC that has a nice frame-mounted hitch, but need the adapter to connect lights. I see a trailer connector in the spare tire well in the rear. Can anybody tell me where to get the adapter to connect to standard trailer lighting?

 

Are you asking where you can get a trailer wiring harness that is specific to your model? If so, start with a volvo store like FPC Euro or IPD USA. You can also try etrailer.com - which is who I used for my 2004 Highlander. Got the hitch and harness - both were perfect fit with easy to follow directions. Note that some cars are fused for the trailer connector so make sure you check to see if there is a fuse in place.

 

I ended up figuring the pin-outs for the factory connector and rigging up a temporary wiring harness, using a Draw-Tite brand universal connector. It works for now, but eventually I would like to get the actual connector at some point to make a proper connection to the OEM harness.
