Default A lot of Hesitation on accellerarion/decelleration

Hi All,

Would apprecaite any help in finding out why my vehicle is bucking/lurching upon accelartion and decelleration (mainly between 48-54 MPH). It has never stalled out and when idling (at 700 rpm) seems fine.
It feels like misfiring and I hear drum-banging sounds from the cat conv. area when the vehicle does this. Also, there are no engine diag. codes coming up NOTHING!!

Details:
V70 Turbo has 169K mi.
New plugs (NGK), gas and air filter.
MAF sensor tested to be working -disconnected while car running and engine died out).
Recently cleaned ETM -replaced w/new gasket
NO CODES/DASHBOARD LIGHTS

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Not to intentionally start anything here, but I have read much back and forth about plugs. I noticed you installed NGK. Some swear by them and others say run away as fast as you can. Maybe try a set of Volvo or Bosch? And yes, I am aware many places say Volvo is Bosch or Champion, or whatever.

I have the same issue with my 2001 XC70 with 110k miles, but the issue is mostly most noticeable at maintaining at the speeds you mentioned. New plugs didn't help. Any ideas?

Default Same problem

I have the same problem, my car runs relatively good, until I turn the a/c on. It then bucks and lurches, with a lot of hesitation when accelerating.

Default Update...

Changed the plugs, coils, fuel filter and had the system tested and updated with the latest computer software updates at the Volvo dealer. One mechanic said it was the throttle control module but the dealer said it is testing fine. Strangely there was some improvement after the software upgrade but it still hesitates.
