Default P2 Ocean MK18 fitment questions

Hey all!

New to the Volvo forums as I just picked up a new to me 2.4T AWD model.

I am already looking to change up the exterior starting with some lowering springs and a fresh set of wheels.
I am in love with Ocean MK18s, and have found a set local. They are 18x8.5 ET6.

I have no idea what I can fit on these things and everything I look up is for older 900 series in regards to this specific wheel. I know I may need to do some fender work possibly, but I just want to know what my options were.

I am not good with wheel specs or anything, so help is very much welcomed! Thank you!

Nope, these are not going to fit due to the ET6 spec.

Background:

There are 3 numbers critical to mounting rims.

1) bolt pattern. Your Volvo is a 5x108 - same as pretty much all volvos since the 80s with the exception of the Gen1 S40s
2) Center bore. Volvos rims are "hub-centric so the center bore needs to match the hub's flange diameter. Not sure what year your car is but some older models used a 65.1mm center bore, later years they were 63.4. You can fit older rims on a newer car using hub rings but to go the other way you'd need adaptor plates which messes with the offset
3) Offset. This is the difference between the rim's center line and the face of the hub. The ET is the number of mm to the inside. Most FWD/AWD models have an offset in the 40-55mm range depending on the rim's width.

So say your car is a 2010 - a direct fit 18x8 inch rim would be a 5x108 with a 63.4 center bore and ET55.

The Oceans you cited are spec'd for a RWD redblock (ie 700/900 series) and have a 65.1 center bore and an ET6. this means the rims would be about 50mm (2 inches) closer to the fender lip than stock and you can't fix that with a spacer.

GIven the styling, I'd shop some online wheel sites (Tirerack, Hubcaphaven etc) to see if there's any alternatives with similar look available in the proper ET.

wheel-size.com is a great help for that from what I understand...
