Hello to all, long time no see. Well, I've searched the net and forums dedicated to Volvo (this one as well) but can't find the exact answer to my question. I've learned that the max wheel size (without interior wheelwell modification) for a 940 Volvo is 19 x 8 (don't know the et). Now, I understand that they are 8" wide because they are 19" in height, but my question is what would be the max size in width for a 17" wheel? I know that Super DTM is 17 x 8.5, but is 8.5 the biggest? How about with a 15 et or 20 et or even a lower et?

The thing is I want to know what is the max width size for the REAR wheels. Or better yet, how can I measure the car to get an accurate reading? I mean, how can I find out the max wheel width measuring and using a mockup in my car? Where I place the ruler to get the measurments I need?

Here are my sketches for the sizing of the wheel.

Below you see a CAD impresion of the wheels.

The first set (up and down) are of the wheels I've got now. These are scale models, I measured the wheel well as far as I could to get the general proportions. The wheels are in the center with the current 215/45 R17 tires I've got, the body of the car is to the right.

The second is the proposed set, to be 10 in the back, they have a 20et offset. and the inside legs are outward bent (that is the fact I hate about my wheels).

The third attempt is the design I want. A straight legged pair of 5 spoke!! Now with all the mods.. the front wheels have a 2 in lip and the back has a 3 in.

Now, Does the Volvo Polaris has a 3 in lip or more?

Looks like a 3 inch lip.
