hi i am college student i love my volvo i really do. this guy at my school said something about my computer needs to be upgraded????? so can someone tell me how much does it cost for the software upgrade for my transmission computer....last 6 digits of my vin 050159.....thx i need to get to school and i dont want to drive my car..

 

Are you having transmission problems? It helps to know the year of the car and the exact model.

It may or may not be free. The last time I brought my car into the dealer I had the oil changed and had them update all the software on the car and check my fuel pump. Call the service department and ask. They will either tell you it is free or tell you it's free with some other service (like an oil change).

Depending on what kind of issue you are having, software may or may not help. But it sounds like the guy you know has at least some knowledge about Volvos.
