Default power side mirror question

Hopefully this is the right place.

I got both side mirrors from a 2008 V70 from the auto recycling yard. I want to use these mirrors on an older car I am restoring. The question is can the mirror motor be used directly? Meaning without going through the door module. The turn signal and bottom door light leads I have identified. So I can use them. I would like to be able to use the mirrors if possible.

I have downloaded a wiring diagram that mostly matches the wires of the mirror. But it doesn't identify what wires control the mirrors movement. I have tried several different wire combinations with no luck. My guess is that these mirrors only work through all the different modules.

Thanks. AJ

Yes. 3 motors are in the green box. X axis motor, Y axis motor, and "Mf" motor for the optional folding mirror function. The 2 potentiometers in the red box - are for the mirror position memory. (can be optional also - that's why the wires are shown as dotted lines) and are not needed to make the mirror move. So - three wires needed to move the glass - terminals 7, 15, and 16. Or the green, grey and brown w/white wires. Power is reversed to make the mirror move the opposite way. Just like a window motor. You will obviously need a little joystick control switch - pictured below is what an old 240 used.

Thanks. That helps a lot. I have a couple of mirror switches I can try setting up. Testing with only two wires before explains why it wouldn't work. And your wiring diagram looks just like the V70 diagram I have. Now I have something to go by.

Thanks again.
