Default Sideview Mirror on Passenger Side Not Working Properly

The sideview mirror on the passenger side of my '01 S60 2.4T is not working properly. I can still use the controls on the driver's door panel to move the mirror up and down, but it will no longer move from side to side. When I push on the left or right side of the mirror, it moves freely. The sideview mirror on the driver's side doesn't do that. When I push on that mirror, it stays in place.
Not sure if that means the passenger's sideview mirror motor is toast, something got stripped out or if the mirror itself needs to be replaced.
I'm thinking motor, but I don't want to tackle that until I double check here.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
