Ok. Idles rough. Put Ac on and really rough. RPM is right on the whole time. Come off of idle, smooth and runs down the road like a champ. Just had fuel sensor recall done. No OBD alarms. Has been well maintained.

 

I'd check fuel pressure then compression. How many miles?

Does "well maintained" mean oil changes have been done by the book? Or that the car has been kept clean and repairs done when stuff broke?

 

"No OBD alarms" means what? that there is no trouble codes in either present or pending? What are the fuel trims? Short term? long term? The beauty of OBD2 is that there are SO many clues as to a problem in the Data stream. Also, in Mode 6 function, many diagnostics can be run right from the driver seat.

 

look at engine mounts.

 

I've had four wagons going back 25 years and have done 95% of the work. I think I'm pretty good. The catch here is perfect RPM control with the vibration. Park or drive.

 

I did the passenger side mount 4 days ago. They always seem the first to go.

 

its not the front mount that causes that type of vibration. Look at the top mount and the transmission side.

I have came across sub frame bushings which the bolts had loosened somehow and caused a similar vibration.

If you have no check engine light, and the exhaust pulse is smooth, its not an engine problem you are looking for.
