seat belt locked cant move seat up

i have a 2002 Volvo v70 estate folded rear seat down now seat belt has locked up and cant put the seat back to its upright position

moved you to the V70 board - the "forum issues" board is for issues with the forum, not the cars :-)

See if you can press on the top of the folded seat to see if you can ease some of the tension holding the belt against its latching device to give some wiggle room to release.

how was this fixed? I have the same problem in my XC90

It can be fixed on some cars by unbolting the end of the seat belt under the seat - the seat can then be raised and sometimes the belt will pull out and retract normally after that. If the seat belt still does not work the seat usually has to move to be removed - to get to the belt inside it.
