Default Still stuck trying to remove alternator from 2002 V70

Hello,

I've been able to remove all three bolts from the alternator, and have removed the serpentine belt, the top radiator hose, the power steering pump, and the intercooler hose. Relative to the alternator's shaft, the alternator will rock freely maybe 20 degrees in pitch, but won't really move in the yaw or roll plane. I don't want to force it, I've looked at the new alterator and can't figure out what could be restraining it.

Hi,

I found an online parts diagram and it looks like the compressor has four bolt holes, two top and two bottom, that hold it on, and the bolts would come from the front of the car.

There are four, correct. The top two also hold the alternator in. The bottom two need to be loosened a couple turns to get the alternator out because it is pinched between the compressor and the block.
