Message Center saying "Start Prevention - Try Again" When trying to start 2002 Volvo S80
Hi Guys! I was wandering if someone would be able to help me and tell me why when I tried to start my2002 Volvo S80 2.9yesterday that it would not start the first time and after the second try my message center said "START PREVENTION - TRY AGAIIN" on the third try it started. Back in May my car would not start or even try to start, at that time it said "IMMOBILIZED". My Husband was able to get on this site and found out to disconnect the battery and connect the 2 cables together and let sit for 5 minutes. Then with the ingition on reconnect the battery, then turn the ignition off and use the key to lock and unlock the door and then use the remote to lock and unlock the car. It worked wonders!!! This is a great help to use and we THANK YOU!!!! I hope someone can help this time too.

Hey, Thanks so much for the fast reply. Is there a way for us to test for any of your suggestions? And are any of these things something we can do ourselves? And what about cost? Once again thanks for your help!!

If you have another key try using that for a while and see if it still acts up.
If it does you can try replacing the antenna ring. It is the light around the ignition switch.
If none of them work the Dealer will have to replace the immoblizer.
