Default Temperamental heater blower

Hi all,

I’m needing help with the digital climate control heater blower in my ‘07 V70 RHD D5 diesel. I’ve posted this thread in the UK forums but had no luck so far.

Sometimes it will come on when the ignition is on and other times it won’t come on at all. Selecting AUTO and manually adjusting the speed of the blower makes no difference. My first thought was the resistor but wiggling the wiring and connector to it also makes no difference.

I plugged in my Volvo icarsoft v2.0 to check for fault codes, none showing, but the live data is showing a fan voltage of between 670 and 690 volts? This doesn’t seem right so I’m wondering if the blower itself is faulty rather than the resistor? The reader tells me the air temperature sensor and requested fan speed are both working correctly. In fact, the reader shows 130 different sections of live data for the CCM!

Has anyone had something similar?

Thanks in advance.
John
