Default Timing belt slipped off the gears

The timing belt on my ‘07 slipped off while driving.
what does this mean in terms of repairs?
Just replacing the belt and water pump, or is there probably more damage?
I have literally no idea what I’m doing or looking at.

Send help lol

If the timing belt came off with the engine running all of the valves are bent. You will need to remove the head and have all the valves replaced. Retail maybe a $3-3500 or more job. Usually there's no piston damage, but that's always a possibility.

Could be a DIY job, it's a complex repair but doable if you are a mechanically skilled person. The Valve job will need to be done by a machine shop familiar with Volvos - the new valves will have to be adjusted.

Sorry for your loss.
