Default V70 HID Headlight

Hi All
I took out my 2009 V70 headlight to replace the parking globe
The white one between the high and low beam headlights
How on earth do you do this
I put the headlight unit back in and now nothing in that unit works
Dash messages--headlight out
multible globes out

This is the HID unit

What have i done to it

Regards David

Here's another old thread - 41 days gone unanswered.

I don't like HID headlights as they are the "anti-car option". There are separate functions carried out (creating spark voltage, establishing running voltage) in a remote electronics box. Also the bulbs can be delicate and expensive.

The pins in the connectors are quite small and you could've bent them.

I believe packing those small parking bulbs (or whatever they call them) within the headlight cluster is asking for trouble.

Have you learned anything?

Generally I agree with the above. One thing that I have noticed is that the xenon bulb dims over time and should be replaced. Of course, that's the easy part. The hard part is when the light fails.

In most cases, you replace the ballast, the ignitor and the bulb, both sides. $$$$
