I have HID's on 3 Volvos...they are great! I will say this...on the 86+ 240's you would do well to buy the e-code headlight and park light assemblies first. The US market "TV" headlamps are horrible. The e-code lamps produce a much more usable light. The US lamps use the 9004 bulb while the e-codes use H4's. The actual conversion is child's play because the HID ballast just plugs into your headlight socket for power. The main recommendation I have is the color temperture. While blue headlights may be cool, they are worthless for lighting. Get bulbs in the 6000k range for a nice bright white. Anything higher than 8000k is worthless IMHO. In the pic below, the headlights are 6000k, the driving lights are 10000k. The lights cost me nothing so I can't complain, but when I replace them it will be w/ 6000k.
