Unhappy v70 volvo transmission service required

My Volvo a V70 T5 2000 model sudddenly developed a whining noise .I was going to check it out before the end of the week but ended up with a ISUZU gearbox problem which i completed yesterday.Anyway the car rumbled and i got a transmission service required with a chk engine light. The car moves very slowly in drive and jerks during selection from park to drive. The oil is red and not discoloured, any info with regards to this will be appreciated.

Regards
Leon

It may be the neutral safety switch. I'm old school I forget what Volvo calls it. Just a flying guess.

Do you have any other symptoms? does the car start off in a higher gear or anything like that?

Hi
It has a whining noise when you select it into neutral and drives with hard gear changes. The messsage was cleared by a volvo mechanic as it indicated the valve body but still seems to be driving hard .The whining like bees buzzing is quite audible.

Did anyone mention the possibility of the planetary gears?...not really sure if volvo calls em that but the reason I ask is because if the whining coincides with the rpm, then it's some internal part that is rotating, or a possible bad shaft or bearing of the part/parts that are rotating? make sense????
