Will XC rims fit a FWD?
Hello, trying to buy a 2nd set of 16" rims (used) for snow tires on my 2002 V70 FWD. Does anyone know if a set of 16" OEM AWD XC rims will fit on a FWD car of the same year?
Generally speaking, all five lug Volvo rims for 850s and V70s are the same bolt pattern (5x108) and center bore with similar "FWD" offsets since 1994. To determine the offset of a given rim, look for an ET stamping - ie ET38 means the center of the rim (tire mounting side) is 38mm from the hub's vertical axis. For a 16 inch rim, I'd expect the offset to be in the 40mm range give or take 5 mm but you can look at your stock rims and the new ones to be sure.
With that said, I believe the XCs used slightly taller tires than the V70 FWDs so if you get new rims from an XC, use the tire size appropriate to your model.
