Default winter tyres unstable

I have just had some winter tyres (Goodyear ultragrip) fitted to the front of my v70 d5 2002. Now the vehicle feels a bit weird. Its like the rear end is 'floaty' and just doesn't feel right. I'm thinking I'll probably need to fit the same tyres to the rear in order to fix this. Any thoughts?

Anybody who knows what they are doing at a tire store will tell you either do all 4 as winter tires or none. The end that has better grip will feel solid, while the other end feels loose.

If winter front tires are of good quality and the rear ones are so-so, you better practice your ice-skating rotation figures, you will need it one day on the road. That's unsafe, you will be speeding up thinking you have a good grip on front tires, and the rear end will slip sideways in a highway curb. It's safer to have the better tires in the rear, so you keep the car at safe speeds.
