ive been using these forums for a couple years to help with diagnosing and thought I’d finally reach out for some help.

I have an 01 XC70 with 183k miles. The other day I was driving and switched into manual to downshift when the transmission service light came on and error codes p0717 turbine input shaft speed sensor a circuit no signal and p1618 fault on lead between aw50-52 motroic 4.3. The spot on the dash that usually says which gear is in just read “-“ and I was unable to switch gears. Later on I was able to drive about 20 miles home okay but seemed to have trouble shifting.

What ive read seems to indicate a possible bad sensor, not sure if it’s related but I have had problems with it rough idling for the last while now, especially in the cold, and error codes p1238 turbo control valve, p0121 throttle position sensor a circuit/performance, and p0442 small evaporative emissions leak detected. Any chance these are all somehow connected?

Ive honestly been ready to sell this car and get something to tow a trailer, wondering if it’s better to fix first or sell as a mechanic special.
