Oil change in 2009 XC70...48,000 miles. Until now, the Dealer did the changes (as I just bought the car last year)...now, it's my turn. Done tons of changes in my life...but don't want any snags on this one. Filter- Do I get a 36mm socket for the filter cover? Is this the recommended method?
I will be changing to synthetic (M-1), as this is what I use in my other cars. What weight is recommended for the 2009 XC70? It is summer in NY... I have 5-30w in the garage, but I think it's too thin for this time of year.
How often are you all changing oil and filter? Thoughts?

as for the type of oil just follow what says on the manual book. it will say for winter/summer.
For my S80 i use 5W30 for summer and 10W30 for winter.
