2005 volvo XC70 Enfine system service required comes and goes

You need to have the check engine codes read via a scanner. Some of the codes report current symptoms where the light may come and go, others that are "averaging" will set the check engine warning until cleared. Things like a loose gas cap can set off a warning light, but will clear when fixed...
