Default 2007 XC70 "Heavy" Steering issue

Our XC70 steering is very heavy - more so when cold out it seems. It is perfectly normal driving at speed - seems to only be a slow speed in the parking lot issue? Thoughts/insights???

THANKS.

I had similar issue on my 04, turned out I needed to grease my ( I forget what its called) but its the transition from the steering column to the rack and pinion. Its under the hood, right where the steering column comes out, you can hit it with WD-40, from the top, if that fixes the issue then you can get some grease do a better job.

Did you check the tires pressure? And front end alignment? After I replace the new tire with correct pressure and re-alignment the symptom is gone.
