Can you "tighten" steering on an XC70?

Default Can you "tighten" steering on an XC70?
I just purchased a 2005 XC70 (60K miles). I love the car, but the steering seems "looser" than I would like--too much play in the neutral position. The few dealers (authorized and independent) said that was just how the XC70 was made (not as a high-performance car.)

Is there any method/procedure to tighten up the steering?

No there is not. Make sure all of the steering and suspension parts are good.
